Herbert Crossroads Elder
Where I have been and what I have done
At an early stage Herbert Habnit was already involved in the Crossroads International Church of The Hague church-plant. He was the first chair-elder of the church. Back then Crossroads first pastor Dan Stiegerwald and Herbert worked together in formulating the Mission, Vision, Values and Statement of Faith of the church.
Christian Associates International (now Communitas) is the church-planting organization who started Crossroads The Hague. Herbert served for 10 year on the International Board of Christian Associates in the USA and is still a member of the European Board.
Previously he was involved as a board member of "Hour of Power" in The Netherlands, a worldwide television ministry broadcast from the "Crystal Cathedral" in Los Angeles, and a Dutch Christian television network.
Herbert was trained to become a pilot at the Nationale Luchtvaart School (Dutch National Aviation School). He still holds a European and an American commercial pilot license. He was CEO of a Danish airline and is an honorary member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. He has also been active in real estate development in The Netherlands and Spain.
Herbert is still active as an interim director and consultant for mid sized businesses (SME's) and corporations; assisting leadership, covering a broad spectrum of disciplines with a focus on restructuring companies and organizations to perform better and to optimize profitability or effectiveness.
Our motto at Crossroads is: "Growing relationships that make a difference".
What I like about Crossroads
We promote unity, by celebrating diversity (1 Cor. 12:17,18)
We want Crossroads to be a place where people of different backgrounds can freely meet and come to crucial decisions about their relationship with God. I love that about Crossroads.
Scripture that is central to me
5 I remember the days of long ago;
I meditate on all your works
and consider what your hands have done.
6 I spread out my hands to you;
I thirst for you as a desert thirsty for rain.
8 Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love,
for I have put my trust in you.
Show me the way I should go,
for to you I entrust my life.
