WHERE I HAVE BEEN AND WHAT I HAVE DONE:
I decided to become a follower of Jesus when I was a University student (at Hope College in Holland, Michigan). I got involved in aChristian rock band a year later and played in that band for seven years. During that time I realized that I would not be satisfied with anything less than full-time Christian service. I then went out on a number of short-term missions trips; to Amsterdam, Belfast, Bogota‚ and Moscow. Those experiences convinced me that I wanted to be a missionary. So I went to Columbia International University in South Carolina to get an M.Div. degree in missions studies. At that time I also got an Mrs. Her name is Jacqui. We met at Columbia, fell in love, and got married in 1993.
To complete my degree program, I needed to do a one-year internship in Urban Church Planting. We met Dr. Linus Morris, the President of Christian Associates International; a missionary organization planting churches throughout Europe. He told us about an opportunity to help get a new church started in The Hague. So we came here in April, 1997, when the Crossroads consisted of a few small groups meeting in various homes. We had only committed to be here for one year. But after we arrived, we discovered that we love it here, we love the church, and we love what we're doing. At the end of the internship the church wanted us to stay, Christian Associates wanted us to stay, and we wanted to stay. So we're here long-term, with no plans to leave. In the year 2000, Sara joined our family, and I've discovered that I love being a Dad, too!

MY ROLE IN CROSSROADS
I serve this church as an Associate Pastor. As part of that role I am involved as a communicator on the Preaching/Teaching team, and as the Director of Service Design. I am also leading the Outreach team, the Music team, and the Tech team.

SCRIPTURE THAT IS CENTRAL TO MY LIFE
The One who gives life appeared! We have seen it, and we are witnesses to what we have seen. Now we are telling you about this eternal life that was with the Father and appeared to us. We are telling you what we have seen and heard, so that you may share in this life with us. And we share in it with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.  How great is the love that the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God. And that is what we are!(1st John 1:2,3; 3:1)
I have experienced a new kind of life; the kind that Jesus promised when he said ‚ I have come that you may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10)
God has given me meaning and purpose in my life, joy and peace in good times and bad, strength to endure difficulties, and deep experiences of his love that have transformed me. He has forgiven me, guided me, provided for me, and blessed me over and over again. In response to his love, I want to follow Jesus
in living a life of love, and in sharing his life with other people. The fact that God loves me; that he created me, died for me, and even adopted me into his family, is the motivating factor behind all that I do.
