Who is Daniëlle Roeleveld?

Danielle is the office manager for Crossroads since Dec. 2009.  Danielle and
Ruben live in Scheveningen and have a little boy named Luuk, born in April 2010

MARRIED TO:

Ruben Roeleveld

PLACE OF BIRTH:

Rijswijk, the Netherlands

DATE OF BIRTH:

27 July 1980

WHERE I HAVE BEEN AND WHAT I HAVE DONE:

I grew up in Voorburg in a warm and large family of 7, being a true Dutch girl eating bread
with ‘Hagelslag’ each day (and still do). I went to high school at Zandvliet, just
down the street from the ministry centre. Could I ever imagine then that one day I would work
there! After high school I studied Social Work, because I’ve always loved working with
people. I also got a bachelor in Cultural Anthropology at the University of Utrecht to satisfy
my interest for different cultures.

During these studies I lived in Utrecht and was a member of a Christian student association. Here
I got the chance to explore more of Christianity together with other students from different
backgrounds. This really helped me to develop a personal relationship with Jesus and at the
same time I had a great student life! During that time, together with Ruben we also looked for
a church that would fit our lifestyle and beliefs and through a friend we visited Crossroads and
never left since.

Ruben and I got married in July 2004 and went to live in Scheveningen. In April 2010 our son Luuk
was born. We feel very blessed to have him and enjoy every bit of him. We all love the beach and
while Ruben goes surfing, Luuk and I like to enjoy the sun and the sand. Even better we like to
enjoy beaches in warm and sunny places all over the world. So we travel a lot and love to discover
more of God’s creation.

After my studies I worked for a few years in a youth shelter from Salvation Army. I love working with
youth, but looking back I also discovered that I loved doing the administrative and coordination part
of running the shelter. I moved on to work in a protected housing project for psychiatrical youth and
didn’t stay there for a long time, since I moved to the position of office manager for Crossroads.
I love taking on this new challenge and I am really looking forward to serve all you Crossroaders and many
more.

MY ROLE IN CROSSROADS:

My role in Crossroads is to support the staff and church community with administrative projects, event

Live every moment, Laugh every day, Love beyond words.

HOBBIES:

Hangout with family & friends. Travel and pick up shells or driftwood from beaches all over the world.

MY FAVORITE FOOD:

Patat met mayo, Thai food (but not spicy), anything with chocolate and lots more.

MY FAVORITE MOVIES:

Amelie. Most movies with Jim Carry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Bruce Almighty, the Truman Show
) or Johnny Depp (Pirates of the Caribbean, Chocolat, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, What’s eating

SCRIPTURE THAT IS CENTRAL TO MY LIFE:

"Your love, O LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies. Your righteousness is like the
mighty mountains, your justice like the great deep. O LORD, you preserve both man and beast. How priceless is
your unfailing love! Both high and low among men find refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast on the
abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights. For with you is the fountain
of life; in your light we see light.
"

Psalm 36:5-9 (New International Version)

FAVORITE QUOTES:
