Faced with silence
This week marked the beginning of Lent. Christians have traditionally spent the 40 days before Easter seeking God, sometimes making space to be still before Him by giving up some of the distractions of everyday life. Jesus withdrew from the crowds at his baptism to the wilderness for 40 days, where he was faced with silence, solitude, hunger and temptation. Today we read Matthew 4:1-11 to continue our series asking who is Jesus, why did he need to go through this time of testing, and how might we follow in his footsteps during Lent this year?
