In Focus

In Focus

In this season of change and transition we want to stop and reflect on Crossroads’ core identity and vision. To do this we want to take a fresh look at the five biblical purposes which we aspire to: Christ-Adoring; Communal; Growing; Participative and Missional. These are in essence the reasons why Crossroads and the worldwide Body of Christ exists. We hope and pray that by bringing these 5 purposes into sharper ‘focus’ that we will be inspired and challenged to embrace all the purposes and plans which the Lord has prepared for us as the Bride of Christ.

Alright then, let's go

Marcus Fritsch
Sunday 10 July 2016
We will be thinking about the meaning of "missional" as represented in divine relationships, following the model of Jesus. He left his "comfort zone" and, as Scripture tells us, by that he learned obedience. Participating in God's Mission gives life a deeper meaning than anything else can do as it leads us back to our original purpose as God's image. Participating in God's Mission means great joy of tasting heaven already here and now - but also great suffering as we encounter an occupied and fallen world.

Unleashing the Power of Diversity

Sunday 26 June 2016
Due to technical failure this sermon is no longer available. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

The story of God’s rescue of the world He loves is rolling on - and every one of us has a unique role to play. Our personalities, desires, even our sorrows have prepared us for the part we will play. What is your role? How will God use your life to bring beauty, love, and grace to the Body of Christ and the world around you? Let’s figure it out together.

Tarzan walks to the Lake

One of the great things we get to celebrate in Church together is whenever someone new puts their faith in Christ! That is a great reason to celebrate, but the adventure has only just begun! What follows, is a lifelong season of discipleship in which we're gradually being shaped, molded, equipped, and prepped to become disciple-makers ourselves. What a beautiful way to come full-circle.

Not Seperately Available

Teun van der Leer
Sunday 12 June 2016
John shows us in his Gospel as well as in his letter, how he is concerned about the embodiment of the gospel as something real and not only ‘spiritual’. We will focus on the extraordinary fact that fellowship with God and with each other seems interchangeable: God nor Jesus is separately available; we cannot call God Father, without calling each other brothers and sisters. This fellowship is not easy, nor cheap: it is about forgiveness, reconciliation, and sacrifice.

Let the Adventure Begin

Psalms 47:1 tells us to "Clap your hands, all you nations: shout to God with cries of joy." What a way to worship! Psalms 66:1-2 continues, "Shout with joy to God, all the earth!  Sing the glory of His name; make his praise glorious!" However, worship is more than a "joyful noise."  I read last week about the "joyful quiet" and how we shouldn't forget this either. What elements creates worship that draws us closer to God?  It's not a list of rules, for sure.
