Winter Box collection

15-12-2022 Thursday 12:00 - Sunday 12:00
Bring cheer to people without a network in the dark days of January.

Throughout the Hague there are many people who simply have no family or friendship network who can support them in difficult periods or through the isolation during long winter days. With our friends at Haagse Helpers we want to do something special for these unconnected persons in our city.

Help us to put together Winter Boxes for these persons filled some treats and items that will lift the spirit which we will then distribute in the month of January.

Why January? During the Sinterklaas and Christmas period many charities and organizations reach out to the community. However the darkest, coldest and loneliest days follow in January and February. It is here where we believe our boxes will bring the most care, warmth and possibly joy to those who need it.

Instructions:

Find a box no bigger than a Shoebox.
Fill it with some treats, toiletries and gender-neutral items. Individuals come from diverse backgrounds and the majority are men over the age of 50. Please only place items which are new or as good-as-new.
Write an encouraging note or card, perhaps with a Bible verse, for the individual receiving your box.
Do not place a Bible or Gospel Tract in the box.
Wrap the box in any way you like - remember this is not for Christmas :)
Bring the Box to church on any given Sunday in the comings weeks through to January 15.
