Fun Fair at APCH

06-09-2014 10:00 - 16:00
APCH, Esther de Boer- van Rijklaan 20, Den Haag
On September 6th there will be a Fun Fair at APCH (American Protestant Church in the Hague) to raise money for the mission trip to Romania. There will be several activities for children and grown-ups, like a fun run, games, music and of course food.

All the moneyraised will go to the Roma of Pata Rat. The fair will be held at APCH (Esther de Boer-Van Rijklaan 20 in the Hague) from 10.00 till 16.00. More details will follow.

This October 18-25th, several Crossroaders will join APCH again on a mission trip to the city of Cluj-Napoca in Romania.  The mission trip will focus on families living in the “trash belt” in the suburbs of the city, an area called “Pata Rat”. More than 1400 Roma gypsies (both young and old) live at the dump, unable to receive government health assistance or education because of their undocumented status. They try to make a living off of scraps of material – bottles, cans, and metal – that can be salvaged from others’ trash. Many children grow up in this community, knowing nothing of the world beyond the garbage dump. Some walk barefoot and work without gloves scavenging anything fit to recycle and, not uncommonly, something to eat. Each year the mission trip is an incredible experience which touches many lives (including those of us who went).

For the worship concert in the afternoon we are looking for musicians! We would like to create a band from both churches. If you are interested in this nice opportunity to play with band members from APCH you can contact Annemarie Goudswaard, angoudswaard@hotmail.com.
